Five Tried and True Savings Secrets (from Real Q Link Customers)

At Q Link Wireless, we love hearing what our customers are up to. This month, we asked our Facebook fans to share their secret tips for making ends meet, and now we’re spilling the beans!

Here are five tried and true secrets that real Q Link customers use every day to save money:

1. Enjoy fresh vegetables!

“Make your own baby tomato plants burry a quarter inch slice of tomato, water often, after about 12 weeks you will have several seed-lings to plant in your garden outside!!!”
Make your own baby tomato plants bury a quarter inch slice of tomato, water often, after about 12 weeks you will have several seed-lings to plant in your garden outside!!!

Even if you live in an apartment, this is a really easy way to get fresh vegetables that are so expensive at the grocery store. Find a sunny spot by your door or on a windowsill to grow tomatoes, lettuce, and herbs. As you pick them, more will grow!

2. Get moving!

“I also ride a bike for short trips.”
I also ride a bike for short trips.

Pick up a bike for cheap by checking local garage sales or Craigslist ads. Be sure to take good care of your bike so it lasts longer! Riding a bike, or even walking, can save you the cost of bus or train fare, as well as expensive maintenance and gas for a car.

3. Cut the coffee (while you’re out).

“Put an end to coffee out. Add up how much you spend in just one month on coffee out. You may be surprised!”
Put an end to coffee out. Add up how much you spend in just one month on coffee out. You may be surprised!

Coffee is a typical start to the day for most people, but at $3-$5 per cup, coffee shops are expensive! Invest in a travel mug, and then make coffee at home. No coffee pot? Make your coffee in a pot on the stove! Just boil the water, take it off the burner, and add your coffee grounds. Stir the grounds in, and then let the coffee sit for 5 minutes before you slowly pour the coffee into a cup. Pour carefully or use a mesh strainer to keep the grounds out of your cup.

4. Short and sweet

“Don't spend it.”
Don’t spend it.

We often don’t think about how much we spend on little things. If you don’t spend money on unnecessary items like a new pair of sneakers, pricey snacks, or the latest nail polish color, you’ll have a bit extra to spend on things you really DO need, like groceries, baby diapers, and medical care.

5. Finally, save big with Q Link!

Most of our customers already know that they get HUGE savings by signing up for Q Link, getting rid of expensive bills ranging as high as $100 a month! (If you didn’t know that already, click here for more info!)
